From now on, individuals using the Steam Beta platform will receive a fresh update enabling them to conceal certain games within their library. This feature ensures that the selected games will be hidden from public view, remaining visible only to the user themselves
Steam has recently introduced a significant update that enables users to keep their game purchases private, along with other features. If you have chosen to participate in the Steam Client Beta, you will observe a revamped shopping cart when making purchases on the store.
The great discretion
In the past, when you selected a game to purchase on Steam and proceeded to checkout, you were given the choice to indicate whether the purchase was for your personal account or intended as a gift for someone else. However, there is now a new option available called “Purchase for myself – Private”.
By choosing this setting, Steam will hide the selected game from view, ensuring that only you have access to it. Your friends on Steam will not be able to see that you own the game, your in-game status, playtime, or any activity related to that particular game.
Apart from being able to choose the option at the time of purchase, you also have the option to designate games as private in your Steam Library. This feature can be accessed through the game page, where you can navigate to the settings and manage the privacy settings.
This convenient feature is perfect for those moments when you feel like indulging in certain games that you’d rather keep discreet. So go ahead and enjoy your guilty pleasures without anyone knowing.
Although an official release date for this update has not been announced, it is likely to be available for all users soon since it has already been rolled out to Beta users.
